FlightDeck Freedom Partner Introduces Ascend

Rockwell Collins recently announced the creation of Ascend™ Flight Information Solutions, a globally available suite of flight support, maintenance operation and cabin services for business aviation. Customers can bundle Satcom Direct’s FlightDeck Freedom® (FDF) datalink service with Ascend Regional Trip Support services for a single integrated flight support solution.

Rockwell Collins became a FDF partner through the acquisition of Air Routing last year, and together we are supporting the communications and flight support needs of business aviation operators worldwide. FDF provides VHF and SATCOM datalink communications to the flight deck for access to flight plan uploads, pre-departure and oceanic clearances, text messaging, takeoff and landing reports, text and graphical weather, and cabin communications systems status. Satcom Direct is connected to ten trip planners, including Ascend, for FDF flight plan uploads and text messaging, and more will be added soon.
