Data Center Support Engineer (Rockledge, FL)
As a Data Center Support Engineer, you are responsible for the implementation, monitoring and ongoing support of technology systems and services hosted within the corporate data center. Working closely with Executive Management and Corporate Sales, you provide technology expertise to meet the needs of current and future customers. You create and maintain documentation on technologies you support and are able to effectively transfer knowledge of these technologies to peers and junior staff. You have intermediate to senior level system administration skills and, where applicable, are able to take on remote system administration tasks working in a virtual team. You have the ability to automate tasks with scripts when necessary. You work autonomously to resolve most support issues. You are able to execute small projects on your own, and work with your manager in planning and executing larger local projects. You act as the initial escalation point for junior technicians. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to innovate and make decisions on your own, but also know how to work with a team and take direction when it is given. You value a job well done, possess a strong work ethic, and have excellent customer service skills. You enjoy working with technology but also understand the importance of customer relations in supporting current and future customer needs.
Primary Responsibilities:

Develop, document and maintain procedures for supporting data center systems and network components.

Monitor, troubleshoot, and escalate production network incidents.

Perform vendor interaction with internal and external support organizations.
-
Support production networks which may contain any of the following components: Routers (Cisco); Switches (Dell, Cisco); Firewalls (Sonicwall); Load Balancers (F5, Cisco); Authentication Servers (RADIUS); DNS/DHCP Servers.

Perform infrastructure management.
-
Support production servers which may contain any of the following components: Windows 200x Servers, Linux/Ubuntu Servers, MySql, Microsoft Sql, PHP, IIS, Apache, & CPanel.

Support production services which may contain Pop/Smtp mail, ASP, Scripting, hosted Exchange, remote monitoring, etc.

Participate on project teams to effectively communicate the operational requirements to ensure effective project/technology transition.

Respond to all requests from client team, end users, and account lead/DAC in a timely fashion.

Respond to trouble tickets communicated via pager, phone call, or ticketing tool.

Develop/maintain client documentation.

Generate client-specific reports.

Raise issues that affect client service delivery. Recommend resolution when possible.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Escalate issues as needed.

Assess network issues and report unresolved issues to Executive Management and client support staff.

Requirements / Qualifications:

4 years experience with DNS, NAT, OSPF, EiGRP and routing and switching as it relates to network engineering.

2 years experience with Sonicwall firewalls.

2 years experience with Cisco enterprise class switches.

2 years experience with GRE and IPSec VPN branch office tunnels.

2 years experience with VRF based routing, firewall context management and virtualized networking.
-
2 years experience with SSL certificate management.
-
2 years experience using network sniffer packages and be able to accurately analyze the output data.

Able to read, understand and create Visio network diagrams.
-
CCNA, CCNP Cisco certification or equivalent work experience.
-
Experience with spanning tree.
-
Experience with TCP/IP and other networking protocols - IPX, UDP, ICMP, SSH, SMTP, HTTP, FTP, & BGP.

Excellent documentation skills.

Able to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.

Four year college degree or equivalent work experience.
