Aero X^® puts the “speed” in high-speed data transmission. This patent pending service compresses data creating a more efficient use of bandwidth. How does Aero X^® work?

Using Expand Network’s patented application acceleration, Satcom Direct’s Aero X^® customers experience data speeds of up to 500 kbps to 1Mbps - an increase in Swift64 bandwidth by 100 to 400% and four times faster than any other provider.

Based on proven technology used by the U.S. military, Aero X^® operates worldwide utilizing the Inmarsat Satellite network and is compatible with all aeronautical Swift64 systems.

Air to Ground

• The aviation passenger opens an application on their computer terminal.
• The aircraft’s Satcom system places a call to the Land Earth Station (LES) to establish an Internet Protocol (IP) connection.
• IP packets are then passed via the Satcom to the LES.
• The LES forwards the IP packets to the Aero X^® system.
• The Aero X^® system decompresses the IP packets and sends them via the Internet to their destination.

Ground to Air

• IP packets are forwarded to Aero X^® at the LES.
• The IP packets are accelerated by Aero X^® and handed off for delivery via the Swift64 connection.
• The IP packets are received aboard the aircraft and sent to the computer user’s application.
